Family House Team Member Jabari Jerkins and family,  Akehia, Alana, & Alexa

Today we share the sad news of the passing of Family House team member, Jabari Jerkins. He was not only a House Manager but also a loving father to two beautiful little girls and husband to his rock, Akehia.

Jabari served Family House and its guests since the summer of 2008 – the year we opened our doors. For the past three years, he battled a rare form of cancer. Throughout this journey, Jabari showed bravery, humor, and determination. He was always a source of inspiration to us all, never once allowing his own struggles to overshadow his dedication to Family House. His love of Family House and for our mission made him an invaluable member of our staff family, and his absence will leave a hole in our hearts.
