From your kitchen to our hearts...
Want to contribute, but can’t make it for a full, group Meal Team experience? You can still make a difference for our hungry guests! We invite you to join our Casseroles Out Of Kindness (C.O.O.K.) program!
Through your culinary casserole support, you will be helping Family House meet the challenge of providing meals to cover approximately 70 guests a night. You don’t have to feed all 70, but we do ask that each casserole serves at least ten people. By bringing in a family-sized soup or casserole, you’ll be making a much needed, satisfying difference in the lives of our patients and their family members as they receive long term treatment at UNC Hospitals.
Instructions on making and delivering casseroles:
- Spray aluminum pans generously with non-stick spray and label the casserole with flavor and instructions on how to bake on the lid.
- Prepare recipe. Pour into casserole pan and cover.
- Freezing Directions: Before putting pan in the freezer, cool in the refrigerator, loosely covering with the lid. When cool, SEAL LID SECURELY, and place in the freezer.
- Drop your donation at Family House at 123 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 at any time during the day or contact Georgie Clemens, Director of Volunteer Services to let her know you are coming. 919-932-8009.
